A ceremony yearly held in Can Gio District, HCMC, Vietnam recognized the Nghinh Ông (whale worshiping) Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The festival took place in Can Thanh Commune. It is yearly celebrated from the 15th, 16th days of August on the lunar calendar with festivities including various rituals to worship the whale and prayers for good seas, happiness and prosperity.
